It&#8217;s a 6cyl and has a list of issues as long as my arm.. but hey, it makes a change from switching head gaskets on Land Rovers. I drove it 75 miles home and didn&#8217;t hit any real problems&#8230; which I count as a result, right?<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rustycars.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/xjs-small.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rustycars.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/xjs-small.jpg\" alt=\"\" title=\"xjs-small\" width=\"800\" height=\"452\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-219\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.rustycars.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/xjs-small.jpg 800w, https:\/\/www.rustycars.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/xjs-small-300x169.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>So far, I&#8217;ve fixed:<br \/>\n-Convertible top goes up but not down (bad relay + contacts)<br \/>\n-No turn signals (bad flasher contacts)<br \/>\n-No left-side lights (bad contacts at headlamp)<br \/>\n-Terrible throttle response (throttle cable stretched almost 1&#8243;)<\/p>\n<p>&#8230;and need to fix:<br \/>\n-Both front seats are mostly destroyed<br \/>\n-Front footwell carpets are missing<br \/>\n-Right rear turn signal lens is cracked<br \/>\n-Driver&#8217;s door is dented<br \/>\n-Some genius removed the rear spoiler but didn&#8217;t fill the holes in<br \/>\n-Clearcoat on trunk is bizarrely faded<br \/>\n-Stereo is truly, truly awful<br \/>\n-Steering clunks like it has no bushings in it at all<br \/>\n-Car pulls to right under braking<\/p>\n<p>I count that as not too bad a list&#8230;.. for now.<\/p>\n<p>The car apparently has quite the history &#8211; it came to me with a sticker for a well-known retirement home in the back window and a story that the previous-previous owner had to sell it because he had his license confiscated.
